What is an Example-Based
Taxonomy?
For example-based taxonomies, a category is defined by the assignment of example documents. In order for a category to be defined reliably, a minimum number of example documents are needed to train the taxonomy. These example documents need to describe the topic of the category as precisely as possible. The more suitable the documents assigned to the category when the taxonomy is trained, the better the classification of other documents (see What Does Example-Based Classification Mean?). Firstly, a category is created in the form of a folder. The user can do this by inserting example documents that match the topic of the category manually or with the help of the system. The categories are then calculated on the basis of these sample documents (training documents).
