This InfoObject corresponds to the item identifier in ACNielsen’s standard file formats "A" and "C."

ACNielsen’s "item" contains the manufacturer’s EAN/UPC for branded items. For private label items, the EAN/UPC code is an ACNielsen-supplied number. An item may refer to one or more scanned EAN/UPCs because ACNielsen consolidates products which are perceived as identical by the consumer. To ensure uniqueness across categories, the item is compounded to the ACNielsen category (0ACN_CATGRY) in the BW business content.

In BW’s business content, the ACNielsen EAN/UPC has been assigned a set of attributes which are common to most categories. However, you can easily extend this set by selecting additional attributes that are specific to certain categories; for example, you will have different sets of attributes for cosmetics and for beverages.
