Use

Since there can be several terms or synonyms in the target language for a term, you can maintain synonyms for index entries contained in the terminology database with this procedure.

Prerequisites

You are in the system containing the terminology database.

Procedure

To maintain synonyms for index entries:

Note

You can only maintain synonyms for main entries.
  1. Call Transaction STERM in the system containing the terminology database.
  2. Enter the term and find it in the terminology database.

A list containing the search result is displayed.

Note

Index entries are marked with an icon.
  1. Place the cursor on the index entry for which you want to maintain synonyms and choose Maintain entry.
  2. Choose Translation.

    3. The Maintain Translation of Entry screen appears.

  3. Choose Valid synonyms.
  4. Enter a synonym and choose Save synonym.

    5. The synonym is saved and you can enter further synonyms.

  5. Save the entry.

Result

The changed index entry is saved.
