Message Types and Their Dependencies 

A message type represents information that belongs together from a business point of view.

The following message types are supported by the Release Workbench.

You can find the detailed technical structure of the message types from the  S_EXCH_INFR (Exchange Infrastructure) area menu under Development ® ABAP Proxy Generation and then under the hierarchy node “BI CONT 3.51 -> http://sap.com/xi/SEM”.

Message types have dependencies. When releasing data for a specific message type, you can specify whether data for dependent message types is automatically released along with it.

You release data for the message type “Assortment Product” for a certain assortment and you have set the indicator Associated Messages. This means that not only the assignments of products for the chosen assortment are released, but also the master data for the products concerned, if this has not been released already.
