Harmonized Objects and Source Objects Locate this document in the navigation structure

In data harmonization we refer to all incoming master data from the various data origins as “source objects”.

Harmonized objects contain all attributes of an object that are relevant in the business context. All attributes are stored with harmonized values.

A harmonized object also contains the reference to all source objects from the various data origins that refer to the same “real” object.

The aim of data harmonization is to have similar source objects grouped together and assigned to one unique harmonized object with harmonized attributes that can be used for consistent reporting.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
