A data set groups the data that belongs to a data delivery. Data sets are assigned to data set types in Customizing.
Data sets must be defined for agreements in one of the following cases:
The data upload method is automatic upload with PSA scanner
The data format is self-descriptive exchange format (SDX)
For all other agreements, data sets can be used to influence the instantiation of specific process steps that must be executed after the data is stored in the acquisition layer.
You specify the DataSource to which the data set corresponds. You do this in the data delivery agreements, for which the upload method is automatic upload with PSA scanner and the data format is self-descriptive exchange format (SDX).
You can configure which data sets are mandatory and which are optional in a data delivery.
You also assign a specific process step to the data set to define how the system should process the data during the upload.
Example
Data Set Type |
Description |
Step Number |
DataSource Name |
Optional |
|---|---|---|---|---|
L_ATTR_COL |
Location Attribute Column |
101 |
/DDF/LOCATION_ATTR |
Yes |
POS_SALES |
POS Sales Data |
201 |
/DDF/SALES |
No |
In this example, the location attribute master data is optional in data deliveries. The POS transaction data is mandatory.
This means that for the data to be uploaded by the load manager, only the POS transaction data must be present in the Sales PSA.
