The following figure shows how the load manager and the process flow control (PFC) interact with one another to upload data to SAP Demand Signal Management:

Interaction Between the Load Manager and Process Flow Control
One of the following steps is performed:
The folder scanner detects files in the inbound folder and checks for completeness.
The Persistent Staging Area (PSA) scanner detects new deliveries in the Service Delivery PSA and checks for completeness.
One of the following steps is performed:
The load manager triggers instance creation for the detected files.
The load manager triggers instance creation for data detected PSA.
Instances of the data delivery, process, step, file, and data set are created in instance tables.
The process scheduler reads the instance tables and Customizing and detects new data deliveries.
The process scheduler always executes the next step that has the status Ready.
Before a step is executed, the process scheduler changes the status from Ready to In Process.
Process scheduler triggers the process chain assigned to the step.
At the end of the execution the process chain changes the step status to Completed.
