Steps in the Data Flow for Aggregated Sales Data or Stock Snapshot Data Locate this document in the navigation structure

The data flow for aggregated sales data and stock snapshot data starts with the extraction from the DataSource to the Data Acquisition Layer and ends with the final extraction of the enriched data to the Data Propagation Layer. It consists of the following steps:

  1. Extract Data from DataSource to Data Acquisition Layer

    • Enrich data delivery agreement.

    • Clean up type of sales data/stock type.

    • Determine product if only EAN/UPC is available.

    • Enrich time aggregation level (day or week).

    • Enrich consumer unit of measure, if no unit available. For stock data, enrich stock keeping unit.

    • Determine Recently Sold/Listed indicator (for sales data only).

    • Determine delivery ID and process ID for process flow control.

  2. Extract Data from Data Acquisition Layer to Data Propagation Layer

    • Call quality validation.

    • Upload additional products and locations to the Data Acquisition Layer, which occur in transaction data, but for which no master data exists yet.

    • Extract additional master data. For more information, see Steps in the Data Flow for Master Data.

    • Convert source product and source location to internal source product and internal source location.

    • Set counter for Recently Sold/Listed entries (for sales data only).

    • Count stock records (constant 1) (for stock data only).

    • Determine generic time stamp (from and to time).

  3. Extract Data from Propagation DSO

    • Evaluate Customizing settings and execute stored procedures for the data enrichment process.

    • Create new records in the Persistent Staging Area.

  4. Extract Data from Data Enrichment DataSource to Data Propagation Layer

    • Post new records back into Propagation DSO using the BW data flow.
