Example Example

Mapping for Hierarchy Dimension Subtype

Mapping for the hierarchy dimension subtype is a two-step process as follows:

  1. All the fields whose field type is not PARENT are mapped based on the entries in the view Map All Fields in transaction /DDF/SDX_MAP_MAINT

  2. A new result line is created for each field in the source structure whose field type is PARENT. The content of this field is mapped based on the entries you made in the view Map All Fields. The name of this field is mapped to the predefined extractor field with the name HIERARCHY. All the fields that were mapped before are copied to that line too.

End of the example.

Example Example

Mapping for Hierarchy Header and Hierarchy Level Dimension Subtypes

Since retail panel data files for the Hierarchy Header and Hierarchy Level dimension subtypes have a fixed format, no dynamic mapping is required. Information from these files is mapped using hard-coded logic.
