The analytics and reporting UI of SAP Demand Signal Management allows different business users, such as key account managers, product managers, demand and supply planners, and so on, to display and analyze the data that is stored in SAP Demand Signal Management.
Different types of data are available in SAP Demand Signal Management, both company external data, such as retailer demand data and market research data (retail panel), and company internal data, such as master data and trade promotion data. From certain reports, it is also possible to navigate directly to SAP ERP to check if there are any open orders for a product or any outbound deliveries for that product. From the Promotion Analysis report, it is possible to navigate directly to SAP Trade Promotion Management to view and edit trade promotion data. It is also possible to integrate SAP Demand Signal Management with a provider of social media data and analyze the impact of social media on sales.
The reports that are available can be used directly or can be modified to meet your requirements. Different software, such as SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards and SAP BusinessObjects Analysis for Microsoft Office, can be used on top of SAP Demand Signal Management to perform additional analytics and reporting.
The analytics and reporting UI is built using Web Dynpro for ABAP, the SAP standard UI technology for developing Web applications in the ABAP environment. The following UI frameworks are used:
Floorplan Manager (FPM) for Web Dynpro ABAP
A highly-configurable UI framework based on Web Dynpro ABAP. FPM overview page components are used in the canvas area of the analytics and reporting UI. They consist of a main assignment block and a set of assignment blocks that show related information.
Web Dynpro ABAP Page Builder
A framework for creating Web Dynpro applications, which can include home pages and side panels, and for defining and structuring CHIPs (Collaborative Human Interface Parts) in various layouts. On the analytics and reporting UI, CHIPs are used in the side panel to include the BusinessGraphics as well as in the Page Builder overview work centers.
Business Context Viewer (BCV)
A framework that allows SAP Business Suite applications to integrate different types of additional information into the context of the applications. BCV is used to display the side panel area that includes BusinessGraphics that are relevant to the specific analytics and reporting UI.
For more information, see Business Context Viewer (BCV).
Personal Object Worklist
A framework that provides a central personalized access to a worklist with a general overview of the work environment of business users. It allows business users to define queries and view their results every time they navigate to the worklist or to the overview work center that contains the worklist.
