Stock Data Enrichment 
The purpose of stock data enrichment is to give you insights into current out-of-stock situations at a retailer. It also provides numbers and rates of out-of-stock situations from the past.
Prerequisites
You have executed sales data enrichment before starting stock data enrichment. The results from sales data enrichment are taken into account for the calculation of out-of-stock situations (average lost sales and out-of-shelf calculations).
Features
You can define the following sequence of functions for stock data enrichment:
Initialize Worklist
Selects the data to be enriched from the Stock Snapshot Propagation DSO and generates a worklist.
Data Completion
Completes missing stock values by stock type and marks the records as generated records to avoid incorrect stock values in reporting. Data completion consists of the following steps:
If some products in a single location have delivered values while others are missing values, then the system sets the stock quantities for the missing values to zero.
If all stock values for a location are missing in a data delivery it is assumed that the stock did not change. The stock quantities from the previous data delivery for this location are transferred.
If no stock data is delivered at all but enriched sales data is available, the stock quantities of the previous delivery are transferred.
If a future data delivery provides the missing stock quantities the generated records are overwritten and the marker is removed.
Calculate Out-of-Stock Situation
Independent of the stock type, the system calculates the days of supply as the delivered stock quantity divided by the average lost sales quantity that was calculated during sales data enrichment. The result is compared to the threshold value defined in Customizing to decide whether you are looking at an out-of-stock situation.
Get Result
Posts the enriched data records back so that they can be uploaded to the Stock Snapshot Propagation DSO.
