Use

You can use this transaction to move the date forward on which postings are made in the system. SAP advises you to do this daily as part of the automatic end-of-day processing.

You can set two different posting date values for each bank posting area:

·        Posting date for payment transactions

The system uses this date as the posting date default value for all postings in payment transactions that are initiated internally and externally (current payment transaction posting date).

If you set this date to the next day in the periodic tasks, you are making a posting cut-off. All postings from the payment transactions that are generated after the posting cut-off are posted on the new posting date unless you overwrite this during posting.

For more information about the prerequisites that a new posting date must meet, see the data element documentation (BKK_ACTPDT) for the posting date for payment transactions.

You can use the value date individually in payment transactions, irrespective of the posting date.

·        Posting date for end-of-day processing (closing postings)

The postings generated by the system in the closing tasks (such as account settlement and cash concentration) are posted on the posting date for end-of-day processing. This date cannot be later than the current posting date.
For more information about this date, see the data element documentation (BKK_ACTCDT) for the posting date for end-of-day processing.

Having two separate posting date values means that the postings for the payment transactions can enter the Account Management system on the new posting day, whereas the settlement postings are still posted on the old posting day.

General Ledger Transfer

If the General Ledger Transfer component is active, both posting dates (payment transactions and end-of-day processing) must be later than the transfer key date for the transfer of the posting data to the general ledger. The posting date period, up to and including the transfer key date, must be flagged as Closed in the area menu as part of the periodic tasks for the general ledger transfer. Once a posting date has been flagged as Closed it can no longer have postings made on it in the Account Management system.
