Translation
In order to display the descriptions of elements that you create and edit in the planning environment in different logon languages, you have to translate the objects. Otherwise you would only see the (language-independent) technical names of the planning objects in the planning environment.
You can use the integrated SAP NetWeaver translation functionality oriented towards the translation of planning objects in the planning environment by choosing Tools ® Translation.
The target language that you want to translate into must be set up in the system.
You have different possibilities to group together objects for translation:
· You enter a planning area whose lower-level objects you want to translate.
New Translation Including All Planning Levels: You are translating all planning levels and their subobjects.
Change Translation of Individual Planning Levels: You are only translating a particular planning level. You enter the name of this planning level.

The following applies for the translation of planning areas: The smallest translatable unit is the planning level with all subordinate objects. The separate translation of a single planning layout or a planning function, for example, is not possible.
· You specify whether you want to translate global planning sequences. Using selection conditions, you can enter which planning sequences you want to translate.

Planning sequences that are created in the context of a planning level are automatically translated with the level, if the superior planning level is translated.
· Specify whether you also want to translate planning profiles. Using selection conditions, you can enter which planning profiles you want to translate.
You can combine any of the above approaches with each other, in order to group together the objects to be translated (for example a planning level and all planning profiles, only one certain planning sequence).
You can save any combination of objects to be translated as a variant, and simply reproduce it at a later point in time. This can be useful in the following scenarios:
· You are still in the implementation phase, and are constantly creating new planning objects, however, you also want to make the current status available in the other languages as early as possible.
· You intend to make the planning objects available in other languages gradually over greater intervals.
The current log-on language is the source language. To translate planning objects from the source language into the target language, proceed as follows:
...
1. In the planning environment, choose Tools ® Translation. The Translation of Planning Objects screen appears.
2. Enter the target language in which you want to translate the objects.
3. Make the selection of objects that you want to translate. Alternatively, you can select the objects with a variant. To do this choose Goto ® Variants ® Get.
4.
Choose
, to load the specified objects into the
translation tool.
5. The system starts the translation tool, and offers you the selected objects for translation.
6. Save the translation.
