Additional System Security
You may also be interested in using the following functions when administering your SAP NetWeaver Application Server.
·
Security Audit Log
(ABAP)
The Security Audit Log is a tool designed for administrators or auditors who need to take a detailed look at what occurs in the SAP system. By activating the audit log, you keep a record of those activities you consider relevant for auditing. You can then access this information for evaluation in the form of an audit analysis report.
·
Virus Scan
Interface (ABAP and J2EE
Engine)
You can use the virus scan interface to include external virus scanners in the SAP system to increase the security of your system. This means that you can use a external solution to scan files or documents that are processed by applications for viruses. This applies both for applications delivered by SAP and for customer developments, for example, during data transfers across networks or when documents are exchanged using interfaces.
The secure storage is a component of the SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP. It allows the encrypted storage of sensitive data that SAP applications require when logging on to other systems.
The encrypted storage of the data in the database prevents unauthorized persons or programs being able to access this data.
·
Secure Storage for
Application-Specific Data(J2EE Engine)
Certain applications or services on the J2EE Engine may also need to store sensitive data such as passwords. To save such data in encrypted form, they can use the J2EE Engine’s secure storage area. Data saved in this area is encrypted using a secret key that is created explicitly for the application or service.
