Setting Variable Target Currency in the Query Designer 

Prerequisites

You have created a currency translation type. You have selected the Selection of Target Currency with Translation option on the target currency tab page in this translation type.

Procedure

       1.      You are in the Query Designer. In the properties for your amount key figure, choose the Translations tab page.

       2.      Under Currency Translation, select your translation type.

       3.      Select the Variables Entry field and choose New Variable. The variables wizard appears. Also see Defining Variables with the Variable Wizard.

       4.      Enter a variable name and a description for the variable.

       5.      In the Processing by field, choose the processing type User Entry/Default Value. The Currency characteristic (0CURRENCY) is the default.

       6.      Choose Continue. The Details screen appears. Here you decide how you want the entry to be displayed. You can select from the following:

¡        optional

¡        mandatory

¡        mandatory, initial values not permitted

This field is ready for input by default.

       7.      Choose Continue to assign a default value for the variable.

       8.      Choose Continue to get a summary of the properties of the variables. Choose Exit to save the variable and be able to use it in the query.

Result

When you execute the query, the system requests the variable for the target currency.
