Use

You can use this function to store corrective measures for causes rather than for errors, as is common in the automotive industry.

You can now store the corresponding defect cause in the item details of the quality notification in the detailed data for the correction task. The system proposes the causes for the selected item here. You can also store information about the effect of the cause.

In addition, you can define how much a cause is involved in a defect in the detailed data for the cause.

You can use the Create 8D Report Automotive action to send an 8D report to different partner roles. This action uses the PDF form QM_QN8D_REP_AUTO. You use the code group to specify which data populates the PDF form.

Prerequisites

You have defined the partner roles T0 (Team Lead) and TM (Team Member) in Customizing for Project System under Structures → Operative Structures → Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) → Define Partner Determination Procedures and Roles.

You have made the following settings in Customizing for Quality Management under Quality Notifications:

●      You have assigned the partner roles T0 and TM to notification type Q1 in Customizing for Notification Creation under Partners → Define Partner Determination Procedures.

●      You have defined the code groups and corresponding codes listed below for the catalog of tasks (2) and causes (5) in Customizing for Notification Creation under Notification Content → Maintain Catalogs.

●      You have defined the shop paper 8D_V (Create 8D Report Automotive) for the application area N with form QM_QN8D_REP_AUTO, in Customizing for Notification Processing under Print Control → Define Shop Papers, Forms, Print Programs.

●      You have created process 001 (8D Report) in Customizing for Notification Creation under Notification Type → Define Notification Process and assigned it to the notification type Q1 in the IMG activity Define Notification Types.

You have also stored the QM process 001 in the appropriate notification type and implemented the BAdI BADI_IQS0_SUBSCREEN_ADDON.
