Use

In shipping, you can assign handling units to an existing SD shipment via radio frequency. You first scan the shipment, and then the desired handling units. The system analyzes the content of the HUs and creates deliveries for them which are automatically assigned to the shipment.

Prerequisites

  • An SD shipment already exists.

  • You have made all necessary Customizing settings. To make these settings, proceed as follows:

    In Customizing, choose   Logistics Execution   Mobile Data Entry   RF-Queue Management.  

    Double-click on Assign Processor to Queues .

    Select either screen format 8 x 40 or 16 x 20.

    Assign your user to the entry VHU_RF in the field Main menu .

Procedure

  1. Choose   Logistics   Logistics Execution   Internal Whse Processes   Mobile Data Entry.  

    The system displays the Logon Screen .

  2. Choose the pushbutton F1 Save .

    The system displays the RF Menu screen .

  3. Choose the pushbutton 1.Assign HUs to Sh .

    The system displays the screen Assign HUs to a shipment , in which the field Shipment is ready for input.

  4. Enter the shipment to which you want to assign the HUs.

  5. Choose the pushbutton F1 Nxt .

  6. Enter an HU which you want to assign to the shipment in the field Next HU , and choose F4 Nxt .

  7. Repeat this until you have assigned all HUs to the shipment which you want to assign to it.

  8. Choose F1 Save .

    The system creates deliveries for the HUs in the background and assigns them to the shipment.

    Note Note

    You can still add HUs to the shipment even if you have already created the deliveries for the shipment. Scanning an additional HU in the shipping zone has one of the following effects in the system, depending on the material that has been packed:

    • If one of the deliveries that have been created for the shipment already contains the material packed in the additional HU, the system simply increases the quantity of the corresponding delivery item.

    • If none of the deliveries that have been created for the shipment contains the material packed in the additional HU and you have set the Order combination indicator, the system creates a new delivery item.

    • If the system cannot assign the HU to a delivery in the shipment because the material packed in it does not meet the delivery split criteria (for example, the goods recipient of the HU in question is not the same as in the HUs that the deliveries of the shipment already contain), a new delivery is generated.
