To manage a new category of news, create a new news folder. You store the news in it.

Create a new folder in the following situations:

  • When the content differs thematically from other news

  • When news is to have its own command group

Procedure

Creating a New Folder

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver Portal with the role of portal administrator.

  2. Choose   Portal KM   Admin Explorer  .

  3. In the repository sapcrmnews, create a new folder for your news. Choose   New   Folder   and enter all required data.

  4. The folder you created is automatically in the news author view. To offer the author the same or modified entries in the popup menus too, adjust the OTH file crmnews.

Creating a New iView

The user view of the new folder requires the creation of a new iView.

  1. Derive the iView from the master iView KM Navigation iView (com.sap.km.cm.navigation).

  2. After you have created the new news iView, assign it to a portal component (for example, to a workset or to a page).
