Procedure documentationSet up Logical Systems and RFC Connections Locate this document in the navigation structure

In order that SAP CRM, SAP APO and SAP ECC can exchange data, you need to specify logical systems and remote function call (RFC) connections for each system.

Procedure

The following figure shows an example system landscape and the steps necessary to set it up.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Set-up of Logical Systems and RFC Connections

In SAP CRM

  1. Define logical system.

In Customizing choose   SAP Web Application Server   Application Server   IDoc Interface / Application Link Enabling (ALE)   Basic Settings   Logical Systems   Define Logical System.

    Logical System

    Description

    CR7CLNT700

    CRM System CR7, Client 700

  2. Assign client to logical system.

In Customizing choose   SAP Web Application Server   Application Server   IDoc Interface / Application Link Enabling (ALE)   Basic Settings   Logical Systems   Assign Logical System to Client.

    Client

    Name

    City

    Crcy

    Changed on

    700

    Client 700

    Boston

    /

Double-click on the entry above to fill in the following details:

    Section

    Setting

Changes and transports for client-dependent objects

    Automatic recording of changes

    Client-independent object changes

Changes to Repository and client-ind. Customizing allowed

Protection: Client copier and comparison tool

    Protection level 0: No restriction

    Restrictions

Allows CATT processes to be started

  3. Define target system for RFC Calls.

In Customizing choose   SAP Web Application Server   Application Server   IDoc Interface / Application Link Enabling (ALE)   Communication   Create RFC Connections  .

    Note Note

In SAPLogon, place the cursor on the relevant system to display relevant information. To display the name of the target host, choose Server. To display the system number, choose Properties

    End of the note.

  4. Set up connection to SAP APO.

    Note Note

A client can support only one SAP APO System. This table is client independent, so if you need to define connections to more than one SAP APO System, you will need to define an entry for each RFC connection.

    End of the note.
    1. Define Middleware parameters by choosing   Customer Relationship Management   CRM Middleware and Related Components   Communication Setup   Middleware Parameters   Define Middleware Parameters  .

    2. Select Availability Check using SAP APO and create the following table entry:

In SAP ECC
