Function Bar
The following functions are available in the function bar of the navigation tree:
Function |
Functionality |
Back |
Different functions can change the structure of the navigation tree (e.g. by using ‘Display section’ or by changing from an application to a metadata entity (see below)). You can use this function to recall the navigation tree you were using before (maximum of 10 steps back). |
Forward |
If you have used the Back function to call previous navigation tree(s), you can use this function to recall subsequent navigation tree(s). |
Display |
You can use this function to call the corresponding metadata directly for every node in the tree. For a folder, the list of corresponding metadata is displayed, while for metadata, the individual display for the metadata entry is called. |
Other metadata entity |
You can use this function to select another metadata entity via a selection screen. You can either select a specific entry directly, or display all entries for a selected metadata entity. |
Display section |
You can use this function to restrict the display to a section of the tree. Only the sub-tree from the selected metadata entry will be displayed. This is useful, for example, if you are already displaying a large number of hierarchy levels. (Folders within the sub-tree that have already been opened may be closed when this selection is made.) This function does not affect folders. |
Display metadata entity |
This function enables you to change from the assignment of metadata to an application to the definition of this metadata entity. If it is listed in a folder, then all entries for the selected metadata entity are displayed (independently of the previously selected application). |
Refresh |
This function is used to restructure the tree. This means that all data is read and updated from the database and displayed in the navigation tree. If a specific entry is selected, then only the sub-tree below it is restructured, rather than the entire tree. (Folders within the sub-tree that have already been opened will be closed when this selection is made.) |
Generation log |
You can use this function to display the log for the last generation of the application. (This is also possible after restricting the display to a section of the tree.) |
<Hierarchy column> |
You can click on the hierarchy column header to adapt the width of this column to the length of the visible text. This can be useful, for example, if the entries are no longer visible after you have opened several hierarchy levels. |
