You can use this business function to automate business to business communication in the design registration process.
By making information exchange with your channel partners more efficient, you as brand owners, encourage your channel partners to identify and exploit new opportunities - thus optimizing communication and business with channel partner organizations.
Integration
This function reuses standard opportunity management. A large part of the Customizing settings required are part of standard opportunity management.
To use this function, you must activate the business function Sales and Service (CRM_SLS_SRV_1
).

Middleware Settings
The system uses IDocs to process and exchange information. So you have made the necessary middleware settings to be able to send and receive information as part of the design win exchange process.
Product Master Enhancements
You have assigned design win exchange — specific set types to the product category being used for products relevant to design registration.
Customizing Settings
You have specified default values for design win exchange, and maintained the necessary ALE settings for publication.

This enables you to send information about design registrations to your channel partners.
Submission Review and Approval
Channel partners can submit design registrations and design win claims for approval. You can manually review and approval these submissions or trigger this automatically by maintaining the necessary opportunity thresholds and win metrics.
