  Archiving of Partner/Product Ranges

Purpose

In the CRM server you can archive Enterprise Partner/Product Ranges(PPRs). The relevant archiving objectis CRM_PPR.

When archiving PPRs, the system uses principally the Archive Development Kit (ADK) technology from SAP ERP, rather than the CRM-specific solution.

Prerequisites

A PPR can be archived if it has the status To be archived and deleted . You can set this status manually using the Partner/Product Range transaction, or using the Report for Changing the PPR Status .

Process Flow

You are in Archive Administration.From the SAP menu, choose: Start of the navigation path Architecture and Technology Next navigation step System Administration Next navigation step Administration Next navigation step Data Archiving End of the navigation path .

I. Creating Archive Files

Once you have entered the name of the archiving object and chosen Write , you can schedule a background job for the write program.

The write program writes the archivable PPRs to the archiving file. If this action was successful, you can, in the initial screen of Archiving Administration, choose Read to start the read program and to display the PPRs that were written to the archive file.

II.Start Delete Program

C hoose Delete , to change the status of the PPRs from To be archived and deleted to To be deleted.

Note Note

Before you run the delete program for the first time, you must enter a variant. Otherwise, no change in the status is possible.

III.Postprocessing

C hoose Postprocessing , to delete all PPRs with the status To be deleted from the database.

Note Note

You must also maintain variants before running postprocessing. Otherwise, deletion is not possible.

You can start the postprocessing program automatically after the last delete program has been carried out. In archiving-specific Customizing, mark Start automatically .
