 Components

Definition of Components

You can use product components in utilities packages and product determination objects.

They are used in utilities packages to assign specific sales components. You can for example use components to assign a division-related service product and a material to a utilities package.

Multi-level determination of product determination objects is represented by assigning components, which can also be product determination objects. This produces a hierarchy that contains several levels.

You can use the following objects to define package components:

  • IS-U components

  • IS-U product lists

  • Standard sales components

Characteristics of Components

Components are displayed and assigned in the hierarchical utilities product roles in the component tree. The assignment is made without a link to an explicit version, meaning that the system uses the current version.

Component Hierarchy Tree

The assignment is displayed in a hierarchical format in the component hierarchy tree.

The following features are defined by the hierarchy (only applies to IS-U components):

Sorting

Sorting defines the sequence of the components/component groups within a product or product determination object.

You can change the sort sequence in the hierarchy tree using drag and drop or by moving buttons.
