To ensure that you can use the attributes that are defined in the SAP System, you must assign products to them.
General Assumptions:
Attributes and groups are unique. This means that they only appear once within a product.
You can define the sequence of attributes and groups without restriction and can change this by moving them accordingly. The system observes this sequence in the display at runtime.
All attributes are assigned to a group. Attributes that were not explicitly assigned, are automatically assigned to the Basic
standard group.
The hierarchy has the following structure:
Product
Attribute group
Attribute
Note
It is not possible to subdivide this further. There are no groups within groups or attributes without groups.
Assignment Dialog on the User Interface
The dialog has two columns.
The product you are currently modeling is displayed on the left hand side of the screen with its attributes and groups. The worklist of possible configuration attributes and attribute groups, which have been defined by your system administrator, is displayed on the right hand side of the screen. Groups and attributes that have already been assigned are not displayed here.
Navigate to the Product Modeling for Utilities
overview page for the product required and switch to the editing mode.
In the attributes
hierarchy tree, choose Add Attribute
.
On the Select Attributes
page, insert the attributes required.
To now add an attribute to the product, select the attribute required on the right hand side. Two variants are available for adding attributes:
By selecting the attribute or the group and choosing arrow left
:
This retains the predefined group but does not observe any selection on the left hand side.
By dragging and dropping the attribute or the group to the required target position:
You can also assign the attribute to another group directly here.
Note
To quickly insert a large number of attributes, the system assumes that you have selected your attributes when an attribute group is selected. During this implicit selection, the system checks whether attributes already exist. If this is the case, it does not insert them again.
The following table summarizes the special features of the individual characteristics:
Group | Attribute | |
---|---|---|
Is inserted in group | If the group is moved to a different group, the system only transfers the attributes to the group and reorganizes the new group. | If the attribute is moved to another group, the attribute is also moved. |
Is inserted in product | If the group is added to the product using drag and drop, the system adds the group to the product with attributes. | If the attribute is added to the product using drag and drop, the system adds the attribute to the |
