Assigning Versions to Utilities Products

When assigning the version to utilities products, various selection options are available to you and you must observe certain restrictions: These are described in the following for product modules and reference products:

Assigning Product Modules:

When you assign product modules to a utilities product, you must select a version of the product module. You can make this assignment at any time. Products to which product modules are assigned, must have the status In Process.

Versions with the status Obsolete cannot be assigned.

Assigning Reference Products:

When you assign a reference product to a utilities product, you must select a version of the reference product. Products to which reference products are assigned, must have the status In Process.
You can only assign reference products when you create a utilities product.
You do not need to assign a master data template in the CRM System.
If no master data template has been assigned to the reference product, you can make entries in the Master Data Template field. We recommend making the assignment in the CRM System.

If a reference product has been assigned, you cannot make entries in the master data template field and a redefinition is also not possible. The master data template is assigned here using the reference product.
