Rights views represent a grouping of attribute values for one rights dimension which is defined as a hierarchical attribute.
You use rights views to configure a rights dimension with pre-defined values.
Example
You define a rights view for the
Language
rights dimension that has the following values: German, English, Japanese, Italian.
Later, when defining the rights for an IP, you apply the rights view you previously created, which automatically selects each of the languages in one step – without a defined rights view you would need to select each language individually.
You use and maintain rights views any time you need to maintain rights (such as IP maintenance, contract creation or rights availability analysis).
