You can use this business function to integrate simple search into the search pages of master data business objects. This enables business users to search for master data by entering one or more search values in a single search field; a search that is common in the Internet. Simple search can already be integrated into the central search field. However, by integrating the simple search into the master data search pages, you can also provide users with the functions that were previously only available in the advanced search results list for the relevant object.
The combination of a fast-entry free text search and the ability to execute functions and actions in the search results list can enable users to work more efficiently. Whether you provide the advanced search or simple search to your users depends on the typical searches that they need to perform.

To use the simple search for objects or installed bases (headers), you need to configure Enterprise Search and simple search. For more information, see Enterprise Search Integration and Simple Search.

Features
Simple search supports a free-text search directly on the master data search pages, with the ability to trigger common functions for the business object directly in the search results list.
Simple search is already available for integration into the central search, however, the results list for the central search is a simple list without any functions. To perform actions for the business objects that are found, users have to navigate to the object details.
On search pages, users can switch easily between the simple search and the advanced search.
Note
You can use the advanced search to search for installed bases (components).
