You use this business function to simplify the management and configuration of complex product structures on the Web user interface (Web UI) of SAP Product Lifecycle Management (SAP PLM), and to execute a transfer of the manufacturing BOM in the background.

Features

If you activate the business function PLM, Product Structure and Assembly Management 3, the following new functions are available:

  • Enhancements to Guided Structure Synchronization (PSM to BOM) (see Synchronization in the Background)

    You can execute the Guided Structure Synchronization for product structures and assemblies in the background. In the object navigator, you can navigate between the changes states of the source structure (product structure) and change states of the target (material BOM).

  • Collection of PLM-relevant nodes in Customizing

    In Customizing, you can find all PLM-relevant settings under   Logistics - General   Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)  .

    With this business function, you do not activate any additional menu entries. If you want to call the PLM Web UI from the back-end system, you have to create role-specific user menus.
