Products for the Utilities Industry
Products for the utilities industry are products that are used by a typical utilities company. These are divided into two categories as product roles:
Saleable products, which are sold to end customers directly. Product roles are utilities products and utilities packages.
Modeling products, which are only used in the SAP System to create saleable products or to determine suitable products automatically. Product roles are product determination objects, product structuring objects, reference products and product modules.
In addition to these typical products, there are also other products, which are also sold by utilities companies, such as materials and services.
The following graphic shows the hierarchy of products for the utilities industry and summarizes the six product roles for the utilities industry:
