Object documentationAvailability Profile

A sequence of steps forming the calculation rule that the system uses when it performs the rights availability analysis or collision check for intellectual properties (IPs)

The following availability profiles are available in the system:

  • 0DEF: The system considers the release dates; release dates are activated.

  • 1DEF: The system does not consider the release dates; release dates are deactivated.

You can use these availability profiles to determine whether the system takes the release dates into consideration.

If the availability profile assignment is not consistent for the product category and generation formula for an IP, the system takes the assignment from the generation formula. This makes it possible to create an IP using a product category that does not consider release dates, and to activate the release dates by assigning a generation formula that takes release dates into account.

Constraints
  • You cannot assign two availability profiles to the same product category.

  • If you assign an availability profile that considers release dates to a product category, the Release Dates set type (IPM_RELDAT) must be assigned to the product category.

  • If you assign an availability profile that does not consider release dates to a product category that includes the Release Dates set type, the system displays a warning message and allows you to save the assignment. If you save the assignment, the release dates are deactivated for all existing and future IPs created using the product category, and the Release Dates assignment block is no longer visible on the IP overview page.
