Simulating Utilities Products
By simulating utilities products, you can check your product modeling in a preview. The system generates documents automatically here.
A utilities document is created in the background, which contains the product selected for the item and simulates the configuration on a dialog box. The version used here corresponds to the version of the product used previously during modeling.
The following procedure is recommended for simulating utilities products:
Navigate to the overview page
Product Modeling for Utilities
for the product required.Start the simulation by choosing
Simulation
from the menu bar.A dialog box with the configuration of the product you selected earlier appears.

In the case of product determination objects, an additional button Simulation with Product Finder
is available, which simulates all product finder functions in addition to the actual product configuration. For more information, see the section Product Finder and Configurator.

Note the following points regarding the simulation:
Simulation is available for all utilities products and simulates the product configuration on the basis of the simplified configuration in a preview.
Specific features of utilities products, such as alternative products from component groups or optional products are not displayed. The system only simulates the product configuration on the basis of attributes and attribute groups.
If settings have not been made correctly for the item category determination, the system may not display attributes or may not observe default values. For more information about the settings required, see the section Business Transaction Customizing.
