Composite Calculation
You can use this function to enter and process benefits for several beneficiaries in a social service plan. The combined gross entitlement calculation (referred to as the composite calculation
) supports the legal requirement for a specific entitlement calculation logic to be used for individuals in relationships (such as married couples in a joint household). This produces a composite decision in which the eligibility periods and benefit entitlements are divided up as decision units for each beneficiary.
If you want to use this function, you must activate the CRM business function Social Services, 2013 (CRM_IPS_4S_4
) and the ERP business function Social Services, 2013 (ERP_IPS_4S_4
).
Benefit Program for Composite Calculation
You define the activation of the composite calculation in Customizing for a specific benefit program in the checkbox field Composite Calculation
. The business objects and functions that are linked with the benefit program are adjusted accordingly for a composite calculation (as described in the following sections).
You activate the composite calculation in SAP CRM Customizing under .
Decision Unit
The beneficiaries listed in the SSP as decision units can be defined using a rule-based determination strategy during creation of an SSP, for example by determining these individuals from the decision basis. During manual SSP processing, a caseworker can add or delete additional beneficiaries.
Every beneficiary is uniquely defined as a decision unit by a business partner (in this case the decision unit partner)
) and the additional optional fields decision unit characteristic
and decision unit description
.
The decision unit category
classifies a decision unit for a confirmed, proposed or requested benefit. The system assigns this category and in doing so defines the features of a decision unit.
Decision Unit Category | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Describes a decision unit that the system transferred from a predecessor SSP during a change process. Follow-up SSP periods that contain benefits that have already been approved are also available for the respective decision unit. Caseworkers cannot change or delete obligatory decision units. |
| Describes a decision unit that has been determined using a customer-specific rule (BAdI implementation or BRFplus rule). This type of decision unit is optional in the system and can be deleted by the respective caseworker. |
| Describes a decision unit that was created manually by a caseworker. |

Note
Decision units that are determined by decision unit determination are available as an inbound parameter in the customer exits used to determine the eligibility periods and entitlements.
Implications for Social Service Plan / Decision Flow in the WebClient UI
In the WebClient UI, the checkbox field Composite Decision
indicates in the header data of a social service plan that this is used for a composite calculation. The beneficiaries involved as decision units are listed in the header data.
The assignment blocks Eligibility Results for Decision Units
and Entitlement Items
display the decision units in the items as a default setting. You can display decision units in the assignment blocks Gross Entitlement Amounts
and Gross Payment Amounts
using your personalization settings. Similar WebClient UI settings are available in the assignment blocks for the decision flow.
Implications for Change Processes
If you start a change process for an SSP with composite calculation, the guided activity displays the additional process step Check Decision Units
.
The system determines decision units according to a determination strategy that you have defined and your change process Customizing settings. If you have selected the checkbox indicator Allow Manual Decision Unit Assignment
for your change processes in Customizing, the caseworker can add decision units to the follow-up SSP manually in the guided change process. If this checkbox indicator is not selected, the decision units are assigned according to the determination strategy.
You define the selection for manual decision unit processing in SAP CRM Customizing under .
Implications for Calculation Exit
You define the calculation logic for a composite gross entitlement calculation in the calculation exit. The SXP document in SAP ERP contains the respective decision unit for each entitlement item thnat is required to implement the entitlement calculation.
