Both License Settlement (Outgoing Royalties Settlement or OR settlement) and Billing (Incoming Royalties Billing or IR Billing) have been implemented in IPM using Billing Engine applications’ (BEA), in which billing due lists are processed and billing documents generated. CRM Billing is also based on a Billing Engine application.

Wherever CRM Billing is referred to in this documentation, IPM billing and settlement is also implied. Areas in IPM billing and settlement that differ from CRM billing are described in this documentation. CRM Billing processes the transaction data in the billing due list and the billing documents internally and accesses the master data in the CRM System during this process. CRM Billing uses various services to determine and process Customizing and master data. Master data determined here is entered in the transaction data for the billing documents.
