Relationships between an Intellectual Property and a business partner are displayed as product relationship and displayed using the Involved Parties relationship type.

 

You maintain a relationship between an Intellectual Property and a business partner to:

  • Document this relationship in the system

  • The relationship can also be read during partner determination in the contract. To do so, make the settings in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management by choosing Start of the navigation path Basic Functions Next navigation step Partner Processing Next navigation step Business Add-In for Partner End of the navigation path.

Structure

To link a business partner with the Intellectual Property using partner functions, you must make the following Customizing settings first:

  • Define the corresponding partner functions under: Start of the navigation path Customer Relationship Management Next navigation step Basic Functions Next navigation step Partner Processing Next navigation step Define Partner Functions End of the navigation path.

  • Group these partner functions in a partner determination procedure under: Start of the navigation path Customer Relationship Management Next navigation step Basic Functions Next navigation step Partner Processing Next navigation step Define Partner Determination Procedure End of the navigation path.

  • You then assign this partner determination procedure to a basis category of the Intellectual Property type in the SAP Easy Access menu under: Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Products Next navigation step Maintain Categories and Hierarchies.
