Function documentationNavigating from Xcelsius Dashboards to Overview Pages

You can create navigation links from Xcelsius dashboards to the overview pages of business objects or business partners.

To use this function, you must activate the business function SAP BusinessObjects Integration and CRM Interactive Reporting (CRM_ANA_BOB).

Prerequisites

To create navigation links, you require SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise.

Activities

Assigning Navigation Links

Make the following settings in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management:

  1. Under CRM Analytics, select the Customizing activity Display SAP NetWeaver BW Reports.

  2. Choose Define Cross Navigational Links for InfoObjects.

The list shows the navigation links defined by default, for example CAMPAIGN.

  3. Choose Define BI Reports.

The list shows the available BW reports, among them Xcelsius dashboards.

  4. Choose a dashboard, for example Marketing Executive (0XC_CRM_MKT_ME).

  5. Choose Assign Cross Navigation Links. The navigation links that are already assigned are listed.

Choose New Entries to assign a navigation link. Use the input help for InfoObject to define the area of the navigation destination. For example, select the InfoObject 0CRM_MKTELM, to define marketing campaigns as the destination for the navigation.

Use the input help for Navigational Link ID to assign one of the existing navigation links, for example CAMPAIGN.

  6. Select Exit or Back, and save the assignment.

Defining Navigation Links for Dashboards Based on BW Web Templates

The following settings are valid for dashboards that are organized on the basis of BW Web Templates (UI component GSBIRP). Define the navigation links as follows:

  1. Start SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise. Choose Manage Connections (Ctrl+M) and Add to create a new connection.

  2. Choose FS Command for the type of navigation connection.

  3. Select tab page Definition, and enter a description under Name. The new connection appears with this name in the connections list (Manage Connections).

  4. Define the properties of the new connection. For the necessary input, you use a series of cells from a Microsoft Excel Table embedded in SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise:

    • Command

Specify a specific table cell in the following format: '<name of worksheet>'!$Column$Row. For example: 'Opportunities'!$A$1.You can use the input help to select the table cell.

Enter the command nav_event in this cell.

    • Parameters

Specify a new cell, for example 'Opportunities'!$A$2.

The content of this cell must refer to the content of three other cells, in the form of a concatenation: ‘‘=CONCATENATE(‘‘({ioname:’‘',ColumnRow,’‘',iovalue:‘‘',ColumnRow,’‘',navlink:‘‘',ColumnRow,’‘'})’‘)’‘. For example: ‘‘=CONCATENATE(‘‘({ioname:’‘',A3,’‘',iovalue:‘‘',A4,’‘',navlink:‘‘',A5,’‘'})’‘)’‘.

These three cells must contain the following information:

      • In the cell for ioname, for example A3, enter the name of the InfoObject, for example 0CRM_MKTELM (see Assigning Navigation Links, step 5).

      • In the cell for iovalue, insert the ID of the navigation destination (GUID or business partner number), for example the GUID of a specific campaign.

For the dynamic insertion of the ID, use the corresponding Xcelsius designer functions, for example Data Insertion for a List View Component.

      • In the cell for navlink, enter the ID of the assigned navigation link (see Assigning Navigation Links, step 5), for example CAMPAIGN.

  5. Define the trigger for the navigation, for example a pushbutton of type Connection Refresh Button. You can also use a specific cell of the dashboard as the trigger. Select the tab page Usage to define this cell.

Defining Navigation Links for Dashboards Based on Flash Island

The following settings are valid for dashboards that are organized on the basis of Flash Island (UI component GS_ANA_DASH).

In SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise, create a new connection and select External Interface Connection for the type of navigation connection.

Define the properties of the new connection:

  1. Define a table cell for the navigation trigger:

    • Under Range Name, specify the following: EVENTTRIGGER_<any name>, for example EVENTTRIGGER_NAVIGATE.

Note that the name of the event trigger (NAVIGATE in the example) is required for other parameters of this navigation connection.

    • Under Range Type, select Cell.

    • Use the input help for Range to select a table cell. The selection is transferred in the format '<name of worksheet>'!$Column$Row, for example 'Recent Opportunities'!$F$26.

    • Under Access, select Read.

  2. Define a pushbutton of type Toggle Button (for more information, see the help for SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise).

Each time the pushbutton is pressed, one of two sets of different content information is alternately read from the table, for example Navigate A or Navigate B, and is then written in another specific table cell. Each change to the content of this cell triggers the navigation, if this cell is defined as the navigation trigger. When defining the pushbutton, you should therefore specify the table cell defined in step 1, for example 'Recent Opportunities'!$F$26, under Insertion.

  3. Specify the following parameters for the navigation connection by defining a new table cell for each parameter (Access and Range Type as above, step 1):

    • Name of InfoObject

      • Range Name: EVENTPARAM_<name of event trigger>_INFOOBJECT, for example EVENTPARAM_NAVIGATE_INFOOBJECT.

      • In this cell, enter the name of the InfoObject, for example 0CRM_OHGUID.

    • ID of navigation destination (GUID or business partner number)

      • Range Name: EVENTPARAM_<name of event trigger>_KEYVALUE.

      • Use the corresponding Xcelsius designer functions for the dynamic insertion of the ID in this cell.

    • ID of assigned navigation link

      • Range Name: EVENTPARAM_<name of event trigger>_NAVLINKID.

      • In this cell, enter the ID of the navigation link, for example SLS_OPPT.
