You can use the design layer Customizing to define design objects and assign these design objects to views.
In the first step, you define design objects and the settings regarding field labels and their visibility in Customizing. In the second step, you assign your design objects to views and their context nodes, in the UI Component Workbench.
In addition, you can define reference design objects. A reference design object inherits its design to design objects that are based on this reference design object.
You can copy existing SAP design objects and SAP reference design objects and adapt them to your requirements. You can also create your own design objects and reference design objects.
You can use the design layer Customizing for form views, tables, and advanced searches.

You can assign the design object to a context node, or to single attributes under a context node in a selected view. The assignment is only necessary if you have created your own design object and did not copy an SAP design object. Copied SAP design objects have the same name as the original SAP design object. Therefore, an assignment to views is not necessary. The assignment is valid for all configurations of the view.
Note
You cannot assign design objects to tree views (tree context nodes).
Enter transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB
