UI Integration in Product Modeling for the Utilities Industry

Features

You access the product transport from the menu bar for Product Modeling for the Utilities Industry (PMU).

Note Note

You can only start the product transport from Product Modeling for the Utilities Industry.

End of the note.
Transport (Button)

If you select the transport function, a new overview page that contains the following elements appears:

  1. Logical systems (see Customizing section)

  2. Transport logs for the logical system

  3. Message list for the transport log

Note Note

Several checks are executed when the overview page is opened. If a large number of target systems are involved, it can take longer for the display to open. The system checks whether the target systems maintained in Customizing are generally available. A transport check is then performed to identify whether the version exists in the current status. Any recent transport logs are displayed with the messages they contain.

End of the note.

The transport can be started once you have selected one or more logical systems. A distinction is made between an actual transport (button Transport) and a simulation without an update (button Simulate). No changes are made in the target system for a simulation. The system simply creates a log here.

The transport can be started once you have selected one or more logical systems. A detailed description of the process is available in the section Process Flow for Product Transport.

Once the transport or simulation has been performed, the system displays a corresponding log on the overview page. If several transport or simulation attempts are made, the respective messages are displayed grouped according to the attempt. The assignment blocks Product Transport Logs for Logical System XYZ and Messages for Product Transport Log ABC are available for this on the overview page.

Display Import Log (Button)

This function can only be selected in the target system if the product version has been created by a product transport. It cannot be selected for a product version that is created manually.

Transport Logs

You can also access the export and import logs using a separate search or by choosing Product Transport Log in the menu. This separate search is not product-specific and can be used to select by target system, status of the product version, and period.
