When adding a new IP to a license acquisition contract or to a license sales contract, you can copy dependent scopes from an existing IP in the contract and automatically assign them to the new IP.
A dependent scope is an IP scope (a grouping of IP attributes) that is particular to a specific IP. Examples of dependent scopes include the rights scope, royalties scope, rights and royalties scope, advance group, or holdback.
To use this function, you must activate the business function Intellectual Property Management (CRM_IPM_1
).
You have accessed a license acquisition contract or license sales contract that contains an IP with dependent scopes.
In the Contract Overview
assignment block, select the root node of the tree structure and choose the Edit
button. Alternatively, choose Edit
List from the IPs
assignment
block.
In the IPs
assignment block, select the IP whose dependent scopes you wish to copy.
Choose Copy IP
.
When prompted, select the IP you wish to add to the contract.
The IP is added to the contract and the dependent scopes from the IP you originally selected are copied to this new IP.
Note however that any sub-IPs (or any corresponding scopes) are not copied. In addition, if you copy an IP with a granting reference, the granting reference is not copied (just the IP)
Save the contract when you are finished
