You can use this business function to enhance quotation processing in SAP CRM by enabling deal management using the SAP Price and Margin Management application by Vendavo.
Deal management empowers sales professionals to negotiate consistent and profitable prices and deals, and to adhere to pricing policies. This reduces the erosion of profit margins and increases transparency of profitability and the approval process required in sales quotations.

For quotation transaction types that are assigned to the sales business transaction category, under Customizing

, select the Enable Deal Management for Quotation
checkbox.
In the Customizing activities, you define the discount types from SAP Price and Margin Management and assign them to condition types defined in SAP CRM.

The system retrieves profitability and approval information for the quotation from SAP Price and Margin Management. The sales professional can review the information to decide whether or not to submit the quotation for approval if necessary or to make further changes to the quotation.
When one or more items require approval, the sales professional can submit the quotation to SAP Price and Margin Management. The system confirms the submission for approval and triggers the approval process in SAP Price and Margin Management.
When a quotation has one or more items that are pending approval, the sales professional can reject one or more items from the quotation and stop the approval workflow in SAP Price and Margin Management for these items.
The sales or pricing manager can approve or reject a quotation submitted for approval in SAP Price and Margin Management. The sales or pricing manager can also give a reason for the rejection in text format.
The system prevents sales professionals from creating follow-up sales orders from quotations that contain items that are not approved or released.
