Use

You can allocate numerous characteristics to the organizational objects in an organizational plan. Select an object in the selection area or overview area so that you can display the characteristics of the object in the detail area and, if required, edit them.

Prerequisites

You are familiar with Validity. Select a key date and preview period.

It can be that the detail area is hidden. In order to display and edit object characteristics, you may need to redisplay the detail area using This graphic is explained in the accompanying text .

Procedure

Selecting and Displaying Objects

You can select objects either in the selection area or in the overview area:

Note

You can only select an object from the selection area if you have already searched for one or more objects in the search area.

The object itself is displayed in the overview area. In CRM the organizational objects are displayed in a structure display, that displays an organizational structure as well as the assignment of each organizational unit to the subordinate positions and their owners (employees or users). The following object types can be displayed:

The employee shown in the organization structure is a business partner with the business partner role Employee.

If the user name is defined in the employee master, it is automatically assigned when the employee is assigned.

You can display the exact evaluation path for the current display using This graphic is explained in the accompanying text .

To move up a level within a displayed structure, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text .

The data for the selected object are displayed in the detail area.

Scrolling

In the overview area you can scroll through the displays using This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text . If you have already made changes to data but have not yet saved them, you can use This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to undo or recreate the last change.

In the detail area, you can use This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text or This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to scroll through the periods that exist for an object.

Editing the Characteristics of an Object

In the detail area you can edit the characteristics of the object you selected.

  1. Select a tab page.
  2. Make the appropriate entries.

The tab page Basic data contains

You can define two addresses on the Address tab page. Only the first address, however, is copied into the business partner master for the organizational unit.

The tab page Type

The symbol This graphic is explained in the accompanying text is displayed when the organizational unit is active in the selected scenario. This means that the organizational unit can be responsible for transactions in this scenario.

The symbol This graphic is explained in the accompanying text is displayed when the organizational unit is not active in the selected scenario. The organizational unit cannot be responsible for transactions in this scenario.

On the Attribute tab page

The tab pages Basic data, Type and Attribute are available for This graphic is explained in the accompanying text positions.

You can process the tab page Basic data.

On the Attribute tab page you can activate the selected position for one or more scenarios.

The attributes are inherited from the higher-level organizational unit to the position and can only be displayed.

Data cannot be changed in the detail area for This graphic is explained in the accompanying text employees and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text users. You can find detailed information on employees in the master record for the business partner.

  1. Save your entries by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
