Function documentationFunds Management

Funds management is an application that allows brand owners to manage the administration, distribution, and consumption of funds. Funds management also allows brand owners to track the state of the money in funds from the time it is budgeted to the time it is paid out to customers and partners. Depending on their authorization rights, partners may also be able to view and manage their funds.

Integration

Funds management is integrated with:

To integrate campaign management with funds management, you must activate the business function Funds Management for Marketing (CRM_MKT_FM).

Features

  • Authorizations in funds management

Each object in funds management has an authorization object. Authorization objects are used by the system to control the actions that a user is permitted to perform on objects in funds management. For more information, see Authorizations in Funds Management.

  • Grouping funds into funds plans

You create funds plans to group funds by purpose and organization. You create funds for specific accounts, products, marketing plans and organizations, or territories, and assign them to funds plans. The status of a fund and the status of a funds plan to which it is assigned determine the business transactions that are permitted on the fund. For more information, see Funds Plans and Funds.

  • Budget postings

Funds are containers for budgets. You manage fund budgets through budget postings. Depending on the status of a fund and the status of the funds plan to which the fund is assigned, you can post or update a fund budget by creating or editing a budget update. You can also create a budget transfer from one fund to another, from one fund to many funds, or from many funds to one fund. For more information, see Budget Posting.

  • Fund postings

Fund postings capture changes to budgets, planned and reserved values, prepayment and accrual balances, and expensed and settled amounts. For more information, see Fund Posting.

  • Fund usages

Fund usages are used to reserve parts of fund budgets. All fund consumptions, for example, claims, marketing campaigns, prepayments, and direct payments, are represented by fund usages. For more information, see Fund Usages.

  • Accrual of commitments

Commitments are accrued to ensure that expenses are posted in the fiscal periods in which they occur. For more information, see Accruals.

  • Scheduling and monitoring jobs

You can define and schedule jobs, such as accrual calculations, accrual postings, and accrual reversals. For more information, see Scheduling and Monitoring Jobs.
