Function documentationAttribute Inheritance

Attributes are generally passed onto the subordinate organizational unit. However, you can overwrite the attribute value of a subordinate organizational unit with another attribute value (inheritance type: overwrite inherited local values.)

Example

The following attributes are assigned to the organizational unit Sales Organization Great Britain (0 50001100): "is a Sales Organization" and "Distribution Channel 12 – Wholesale Trade". The attribute "Distribution 12" is automatically passed onto both subordinate sales offices. The sales offices also have the attribute SA_ORG. This shows that the sales offices belong to the higher-level organizational unit. The attribute cannot be seen in the attribute list. However, you can see the assignment on the Function tab page (the Type tab page in the Human Resources System).

The organizational unit Sales Organization France (0 500001200) is assigned two distribution channels: 10 – RetailTrade and 12 – WholesaleTrade. Both attribute values are passed onto the subordinate sales offices. However, you can distribute the responsibility on the sales office level by overwriting the distributionchannel attribute. You then have a sales office for Distribution Channel 10 – Retail Trade, and, a sales office for Distribution 12 – Wholesale.
