Assign Products
You can assign products to a territory to restrict the responsibility of a territory to a product category, or a product hierarchy.
You can also restrict the responsibility of a territory to products belonging to a certain sales area by using a sales category attribute.
To use the sales category attribute you must activate the business function Sales and Service (CRM_SLS_SRV_1)
Prerequisites
To use the sales category attribute, you have to maintain the required product hierarchy ID as a sales hierarchy. You do this in Customizing under

The following options are available when using attributes Product Category ID
, and Product Hierarchy ID

One attribute:
Category ID
This is not unique and can be used in multiple product hierarchies.
Two attributes:
Hierarchy ID
andCategory ID
Combination of:
Category ID
+Category ID
(PM_CATEGORY_GUID
)Use this if you need to assign a group of products to a territory.
Recommendation
The Category ID
is not unique, so using it makes sense only if you have just one product hierarchy in the system. If the category ID occurs in multiple product hierarchies, you have to maintain Hierarchy ID
. So we recommend that
you maintain only Category ID + Hierarchy ID.
Since sales category attribute Prod.Hier/ Sales Cat.
is dependent on the sales area, when using it in a rule statement, you must also select Sales Area
