Object documentationSales Organization

Organizational unit in sales and distribution that structures the company according to SD requirements.

The sales organization is responsible for the business success of a sales area in an existing organizational model.

Sales transactions are prepared and implemented in a sales organization.

Several sales offices and/or sales groups, or, other freely definable organizational units can be assigned at a lower-level to a sales organization. It is not possible, however, to have further sales organizations subordinate to a sales organization.

You can assign attributes to a sales organization in organizational model maintenance. The sales organization is then responsible for these attributes, for example, one or more divisions and distribution channels or a language, a postal code etc. You can find more information under general attribute maintenance. You use these attributes in business transactions to enable organizational data determination.

Integration

Sales data in the business partner master (for example, pricing data) is dependent on the sales area (sales organization with the attributes distribution channel and division). Therefore you should enter a sales organization in the sales transactions, in order that the system can read the sales data for the transaction in the business partner master.
