Object documentationOrganizational Objects

Objects used for the object-orientated design of Organizational Management when structuring an organizational model. The following object types are available in CRM:

Organizational models can also contain object types that come from other components, for example, employee (business partner), user.

There are two ways of linking organizational objects for creating an organizational model:

  • In the first, you can link objects with the same object type to individual hierarchies or list them as individual catalogs

  • In the second, you can link objects of different object types and so connect individual hierarchies and catalogs together

You can use these links to form functional dependencies in the organizational model of your company.

You do not have to create all of the objects listed above in your organizational model. You do not have to define positions if, for example, these are not of significance to you. You must, however, create organizational units.

You can maintain your organizational model (SAP ECC organizational plan) in SAP ECC and distribute the data in SAP CRM by ALE. In this case, however, you must still maintain attributes for organizational units in SAP CRM.

By defining a validity period for each organizational object, you can display past, present and future situations.

Structure

An organizational object consists of

  • a short and long description

  • an 8 digit ID number (assigned by the system) and a description

  • a link, which defines the relationship of an object to another object

  • a validity period and a time constraint

  • a status flag

  • assignment to one or more scenarios

An organizational unit also has its own specific characteristics (attributes).
