Function documentationProduct Catalog Display in the Web Shop

Business partners use the product catalog to display and order products in the Web shop. Products can be shown in a block view or list view, from which you can navigate to the product details.

Prerequisites

  • You have indexed the catalog to the index server, fo example the TREX server

  • You have made the necessary configuration settings for the catalog in your Web shop. You do this on the Catalog tab page in your Shop Management application. For more information, see the basic settings configuration documentation for CRM Web Channel in SAP Solution Manager.

Features

Product Display

You can use either the block view or the list view format in your Web shop to display products in the product catalog.

  • Block View (B2Conly)

The block view format displays a detailed upfront presentation of catalog products, personalized product recommendations, and global product recommendations in your B2C Web shops. The block view allows you to include more information about a product at first glance for the customer than the list view does. For example, you can display basic eye-catcher texts, price eye-catcher texts, and hyperlinks to product details in the block view. In addition a paging function for the catalog products is available.

  • List Views (B2B and B2C)

The list view format displays products in the catalog in a list in the B2B and the B2C Web shops.

In the B2C Web shop you can additionally make use of price eye-catcher texts in the list view.

You maintain the view format for your catalog in the Web shop in Extended Configuration Management (XCM). For more information, see the basic settings configuration documentation for E-Commerce in SAP Solution Manager.

Eye-Catcher Texts

You can display eye-catcher texts for products in your B2C Web shop. Two types of eye-catcher texts are available, enabling the user to see and read specific information at a quick glance.

  • Basic eye-catcher texts

Enable you to highlight important information about a product or package.

This text can be displayed if you are using the block view format for your catalog in your Web shop on the following pages:

    • Home page special offers and personalized product recommendation views

    • Product details page

    • Cross-selling, up-selling, and accessory lists

You maintain the basic eye-catcher texts in the product master and display them in the catalog in the Web shop.

  • Price eye-catcher texts

Enable you to highlight important price information for a product or package. For example, if you have a product with a special offer price, you can highlight the cheapest price in the price eye-catcher text.

This text can be displayed if you are using the block view or the list view format in your Web shop. The text is always displayed above the normal price information in the block view and list view, and in the cross-selling, up-selling, and accessory lists.
