Function documentationTransaction Launcher

This function allows agents to access business transactions directly from the IC WebClient. The main benefit of using launch transactions is to save agents from logging into multiple systems and repeating data entry.

When launch transactions are created, they are placed in the navigation bar so agents have access to them. Agents are not aware if the transactions in the navigation bar are standard IC WebClient functions, or functions made possible from the transaction launcher.

Prerequisites

  • To configure the transaction launcher, you will need knowledge of:

    • BOR methods

    • BOL browser and BOL objects

    • IS-U front office processes

  • You have defined transaction launcher logical systems and URLs in the SAP menu under Start of the navigation path Interaction Center Next navigation step Interaction Center WebClient Next navigation step Administration Next navigation step System Parameters Next navigation step Define Transaction Launcher Logical Systems and URLs End of the navigation path.

  • You have configured the activities in Customizing under Start of the navigation path Customer Relationship Management Next navigation step Interaction Center WebClient Next navigation step Basic Functions Next navigation step Transaction Launcher Next navigation step Define URLs and Parameters End of the navigation path and Start of the navigation path Configure Transaction Launcher (Wizard) End of the navigation path.

Features

The transaction launcher can start:

  • SAP GUI for HTML transactions via the Internet Transaction Server (ITS) from both SAP ECC and SAP CRM systems

  • IS-U front office processes from IS-U systems

  • URL based transactions from external applications or SAP systems

Information can be passed to and from the IC WebClient and the launch transaction, depending upon Customizing. For example, the confirmed business partner can be passed to SAP ERP sales order and the created document can be returned.
