Directly Dependent Business Function You Need to Activate

HCM, SAP E-Recruiting 1 (HCM_ERC_CI_1)

You can use this business function to enhance the search applications in SAP E-Recruiting and thus to obtain more precise search results. The new functions enable the recruiter and the succession planner to identify candidates with the required characteristics more efficiently in the Talent Pool. In this way, you can fill vacant jobs with suitable candidates more quickly or find successors for key positions. Candidates also benefit as they can find interesting employment opportunities more quickly and precisely.

Via the new search functions, users can use additional operators in search queries and can display an improved and more flexible result list.

Once you have activated the business function, SAP E-Recruiting uses the Search Engine Service (SES) as the interface to the search engine. Changing the previous interface over to SES improves the performance of the search and increases the stability.

For information about the search applications in SAP E-Recruiting, see Search Applications (Recruitment) or Search Applications (Succession Planning).

Note Note

Some of the functions for SAP E-Recruiting are relevant only for Recruitment, others are also relevant for Succession Planning. For additional information, see the descriptions for the relevant functions.

End of the note.

Using Search Engine Service (SES) to link SAP E-Recruiting with Search and Classification (TREX) is possible only in certain circumstances. Make sure you take into account the information in SAP Note 1098046 before you activate this business function.

Features

Enhancements to Display of Search Results (Recruitment and Succession Planning)

You use this function to simplify and accelerate the recruiter's (succession planner's) search for suitable candidates with new functions and enhanced result lists.

  • Recruiters (succession planners) can display the candidates' resumes from the result list of the search.

  • For free text searches, a column in the result list displays an excerpt of the document found and a link to it.

  • Displaying the candidate IDs in the result list helps the recruiter and the succession planner to quickly differentiate between candidates with identical first and last names.

  • Recruiters can search for other suitable requisitions for candidates directly from the search result list, and assign these candidates to the requisitions.

Other Search Criteria and Operators for Search Queries (Recruitment and Succession Planning)

You use this function to allow the recruiter (succession planner) to perform complex searches. The recruiter (succession planner) can use new search criteria and operators to link or specify areas for search criteria to find suitable candidates for staff assignments (succession plans) more easily and efficiently.

In addition, when searching for candidates, recruiters (succession planners) can use search criteria to find candidates that have up-to-date profiles or whose profiles were last changed by a predefined person.

Furthermore, they can search for candidates using candidacy and requisition criteria.

Simple Assignment of Candidates to Talent Groups (Recruitment and Succession Planning)

You use this function to allow recruiters (succession planners) to assign a candidate directly to one or more talent groups from search result lists. This simplifies the assignment of candidates to talent groups for the user, as the user no longer needs to navigate to the Assignment to Talent Groups application via the start page. The direct assignment of candidates to talent groups is possible via the search result lists of the Search for Candidates in the Talent Pool and Search in the Context of a Talent Group search scenarios.

Search for Employment Opportunities in Predefined Periods (Recruitment)

You use this function to simplify the search for job postings for candidates. Candidates can search for job postings that were published in a certain period or with an employment start date in a certain period, and thereby select predefined periods when defining the search criteria.

Note Note

This function is only possible for the Web Dynpro version of the candidate's user interface. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for SAP E-Recruiting under Note on Using Web Dynpro ABAP for User Interfaces.

End of the note.

Automatic Saving of Search Results When Searching for Candidates in the Context of a Requisition (Recruitment)

This function provides support in fulfilling the legal requirements with regard to saving information about searches executed - such legal requirements may apply when you hire new employees. The system automatically logs the search result with the candidates found if the recruiter assigns at least one candidate from the result list to the requisition.

For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for SAP E-Recruitingunder BAdI: Log Search Result List.
