Features

Improved Integration of QM with Variant Configuration

If a sales order or production order contains a variant configuration with quality-related values without a value range, the inspection characteristic inherits the upper and lower tolerance value of the characteristic value in the variant configuration. As a result, even small differences can lead to the inspection characteristic being rejected.

To be able to work with realistic tolerance values, you can use the specification determination rules supplied by SAP in the master inspection characteristic. You can also implement and use your own rules by using the BAdI for specification determination rules (BADI_QASDR_MASTERCHAR_TO_INSP). For more information, see Editing the Inspection Setup and Creating or Changing a Master Inspection Characteristic.

Integration of Inspection Plans in EH&S

It enables you to create inspection plans and master inspection characteristics of the Quality Management (QM) component, based on the data in the substance workbench of the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) component. An update mechanism for inspection plans is also provided, in case the data in the substance workbench has changed. This makes creating and processing inspection plans easier.

The standard system provides a default implementation for the substance workbench of the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) component. Additional external data sources that must be connected using a special BAdI implementation include:

  • CAD drawings

  • Technical delivery terms

  • Excel files with specification data or inspection specifications

Three new transactions are available:

  • Creating Master Inspection Characteristics from an External Source

With this new transaction, you can create master inspection characteristics based on EHS specifications. For more information, see Creation of Master Inspection Characteristics from an External Source.

  • Creating Inspection Plans from an External Source

With this new transaction, you can create inspection plans from an external source or copy characteristic data from an external source to an inspection plan. For more information, see Creation of Inspection Plans from an External Source.

  • Updating Inspection Plans with Data from an External Source

With this new transaction, you can update inspection plans with changes that were made in EHS specifications. You will be informed via your Business Workplace inbox if EHS specifications have been changed.

    Note Note

Note that you must have already activated the function in EHS for updating change documents for EHS specifications.

    End of the note.

For more information, see Updating of Inspection Plans from an External Source.
