Features

SAP NetWeaver Business Client for HTML

You can use the dealer portal for vehicle sales and spare parts procurements based on the SAP NetWeaver Business Client for HTML. It is not necessary to install the SAP NetWeaver Portal to use this function. Alternatively, you can use the SAP NetWeaver Business Client as a desktop-based integration platform as well as the SAP NetWeaver Portal.

This Web-based user interface is controlled using the authorization roles SAP_COCKPIT_DPVMS (vehicle sales) and SAP_COCKPIT_DPSPP (spare parts procurement) in the back-end system. These authorization roles contain user menus and enable you to access the functions for vehicle sales and spare parts procurement via the Web-based user interface.

Prerequisites

You have authorized users and dealers to use the functions for vehicle sales and spare parts procurement in the Web-based user interface by assigning them the authorization roles SAP_COCKPIT_DPVMS and SAP_COCKPIT_DPSPP.

Characteristic Value Assignment Screen in the Dealer Portal

You can use the characteristic value assignment screen as a Web user interface to configure vehicles in the dealer portal.

Alternatively, you can use the Internet Pricing and Configurator (IPC) for vehicle configuration.

Prerequisites

Knowledge Base Objects and Knowledge Base Runtime Versions

  • If you use the IPC, you still have to create knowledge base objects and knowledge base runtime versions for the configuration master data.

  • If you use the characteristic value assignment screen, you do not have to create knowledge base objects and knowledge base runtime versions.

  • If you are an existing customer and convert from the IPC to the characteristic value assignment screen, you can delete the existing knowledge base objects and knowledge base runtime versions or leave them in the system. They are no longer required.

  • If you convert from the IPC to the characteristic value assignment screen, we recommend that you deactivate the delta load of the knowledge base objects that is configured for the IPC.

Customizing Settings

  • If you are a new customer and activate the Dealer Portal, NWBC, Integration of Variant Configuration (AUTO_DP_2) business function, the characteristic value assignment screen for configuring vehicles in the dealer portal is automatically available to you.

  • If you are an existing customer and have already activated the Dealer Portal, Veh. Mgmt. Syst., Spare Parts, Enterpr. Serv. (AUTO_DP_1) business function and now also activate the Dealer Portal, NWBC, Integration of Variant Configuration (AUTO_DP_2) business function, you can still use the IPC for configuring vehicles. To use the characteristic value assignment screen instead of the IPC, do the following: In Customizing for   Logistics - General   Variant Configuration  , in the activity Maintain Reference to Configuration User Interface, check the Application for IPC UI field with the entry Vehicle Manager and make sure that there are no entries in the Subapplication and XCM Scenario fields.

Entering Text in Spare Parts Orders

You can enter texts at header and item level when creating spare parts orders in the dealer portal.

Prerequisites

In Customizing for Text Control under   Sales and Distribution   Basic Functions  , you have defined which text types the dealer is allowed to enter for an order at header and item level. There are several different possible text types.

Displaying Attachments for Spare Parts Material Master Data

In the dealer portal, you can display attachments for spare parts material master data on the detail screen for the material.

You can add one or more files as attachments to the material master record in the back-end system and use the authorization object C_DRAW_TCD to determine which document type dealers are allowed to display in the dealer portal.
